Position Summary

The Quality Coordinator supports the Quality Assurance (QA) department by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and all applicable food safety and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, FSMA, and HACCP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Monitor daily plant operations to ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety procedures.

· Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify sanitation effectiveness.

· Perform in-process checks (pH, temperature, Brix, weights, labels, seals, etc.) to ensure finished product quality.

· Maintain and update QA records, including CCP monitoring forms, hold logs, calibration logs, and verification reports.

· Support the investigation of non-conformances and corrective actions.

· Communicate quality or food safety issues promptly to supervisors and production management.

· Assist in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.

· Support QA training for production staff (GMPs, hygiene, allergen control, etc.).

· Review and verify batch records and product documentation before release.

· Assist with sample collection, product retains, and shipping samples for testing.

· Maintain accurate, legible, and organized documentation per company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field preferred.

· 1–3 years of experience in food processing or manufacturing quality assurance.

· Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and food safety programs.

· Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.

· Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, QA databases).

· Ability to communicate clearly in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

· Ability to stand for extended periods and work in cold or wet environments as needed.

Physical Requirements

· Standing or walking for long periods.

· Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs occasionally.

· Work in various environmental conditions (temperature fluctuations, noise, humidity).

Pay: $60, $70,000.00 per year
