Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, leading sales initiatives, and managing daily activities to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Duties

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead and supervise staff, providing training, coaching, and development to ensure high performance.
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation and availability.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained.
  • Oversee sales management activities including pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and achieving sales targets.
  • Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and scheduling to build a motivated team.
  • Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and cash handling procedures accurately.
  • Utilize POS systems for transactions and inventory management tools for stock control.
  • Support marketing efforts to increase store visibility and sales through local campaigns or social media initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations while fostering a positive work environment.

Skills

  • Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills and the capacity to motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, cashiering, and retail math.
  • Effective negotiation skills along with experience in employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development.
  • Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and store operations.
  • Competence in budgeting, sales management, shift management, and organizational skills.
  • Customer service excellence with professional phone etiquette and time management skills.
  • Administrative experience including bookkeeping and payroll processing is desirable. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about retail management and eager to contribute to a thriving store environment through leadership and operational expertise.
