Seeking a skilled Material Handler for our San Francisco, California facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse and logistics operations. Your primary duties will involve operating various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, to transport goods. You will also be involved in loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for production or shipment, and ensuring proper storage of inventory. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe working environment; adherence to all safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position requires physical capability, including the ability to perform significant lifting throughout the shift and prolonged periods of standing and walking. Attention to detail is crucial for accurate inventory management and preventing damage to goods. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess excellent mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stage materials for production, assembly, or outbound shipments.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and record-keeping.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for equipment operation).
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in logistics or supply chain environments is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
