Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records for our Richmond, Virginia warehouse. In this critical role within our logistics operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counts, physical inventories, discrepancy resolution, and system updates. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency of our operations, reduce stockouts, and minimize inventory loss. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the WMS, ensuring data integrity.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Monitor stock rotation (e.g., FIFO, FEFO) to ensure product freshness and prevent obsolescence.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for efficient warehouse logistics.
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety regulations and proper use of PPE, especially when working with Lifting equipment or handling materials.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse/logistics role.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices and supply chain principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to Safety.
  • Must be comfortable with tasks that may involve Lifting moderate weights.
