We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately accepting, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and maintaining inventory integrity. You will work closely with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure all incoming goods are accounted for and stored properly. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. Your daily tasks will include unloading trucks, verifying packing slips against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and entering receiving data into our inventory management system. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label all received items according to company standards.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
