Join our bustling warehouse in Dallas, Texas, as an Inventory Control Specialist. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through meticulous tracking, auditing, and process improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. This position is key to our overall logistics success, requiring a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of inventory management systems and practices. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support efficient warehouse operations. Your commitment to safety, including proper handling and lifting, and the consistent use of required PPE, is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock for production and sales demands.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
- Track and manage returned goods and damaged inventory.
- Work with the operations team to manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and provide reports to management.
- Support receiving and shipping departments by ensuring inventory accuracy for all transactions.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and inventory tracking methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, including the use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
