Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage outbound logistics. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all outgoing orders are accurately picked, packed, and shipped in a timely manner. This role involves coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documents, labeling packages, and verifying order accuracy before dispatch. You will be a key player in our supply chain, ensuring customer satisfaction through precise and prompt deliveries. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and a thorough understanding of shipping procedures and safety regulations within a logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specifications.
- Verify order details against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare shipments, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Operate shipping software and systems.
- Track outgoing shipments and resolve any shipping issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks on packed orders before dispatch.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly concerning safety and PPE.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in shipping procedures and logistics.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 35 lbs).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
