We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. The Material Handler will be responsible for a variety of physical tasks to support the warehouse operations. This includes receiving, putting away, picking, packing, and shipping materials. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient and accurate handling of all goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Prior experience in a warehouse setting or with material handling equipment is a plus, but not required as comprehensive training will be provided. This role is crucial to our supply chain, ensuring products move smoothly from receiving to dispatch.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Receive incoming inventory, verify counts against purchase orders, and document discrepancies.
- Put away received goods into designated storage locations.
- Pick and pack orders accurately based on pick lists.
- Prepare shipments, including labeling and staging.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and PPE.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting tasks, up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
