We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our busy Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse! In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. Your attention to detail will be vital in verifying quantities, identifying damages, and inputting information into our inventory system. This position is the gateway to our warehouse operations and plays a significant part in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting our overall logistics process. Responsibilities:
- Accept deliveries and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Compare received goods against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming items for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received inventory into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and stage items for internal distribution or put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams regarding shipments.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or warehouse operations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and data entry.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
