Our New York City, New York logistics hub is seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting the efficiency of our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, implementing robust control procedures, and analyzing inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to inventory management within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will collaborate with various teams, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to ensure seamless inventory flow and accurate record-keeping. Safety is a core value; adherence to all safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. While the role is primarily analytical, there may be occasional physical requirements, including lifting. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cycle counts and periodic full inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and manage inventory control policies and procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify shrinkage, obsolescence, and other issues.
- Maintain inventory accuracy within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Oversee stock rotation to ensure product quality and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with logistics, receiving, and shipping teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Generate and present inventory reports to management.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory, adhering to safety standards.
- Comply with all safety regulations and mandatory PPE requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management.
- Support operational efficiency by providing accurate inventory data.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management within a logistics setting.
- Proficiency in using WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Ability to perform occasional physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
