We are seeking a skilled and certified Reach Truck Operator to join our state-of-the-art warehouse in Houston, Texas. This crucial role involves operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are stored and retrieved efficiently and safely within our racking systems. The ideal candidate will possess a valid reach truck certification, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and a keen awareness of their surroundings. This position is integral to maintaining the flow of goods in our busy logistics hub. We prioritize a safe working environment, so strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is non-negotiable. This role requires precision, vigilance, and the ability to perform tasks that involve significant lifting and maneuvering of materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move and stack inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and racking systems.
- Accurately place and retrieve inventory in designated locations.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on the reach truck to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas, ensuring clear pathways.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including order picking and packing.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that involve lifting and maneuvering materials, often at significant heights.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification for operating a reach truck.
- Proven experience as a reach truck operator in a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and maneuvering items.
- Commitment to using PPE and following all safety guidelines.
- Familiarity with general logistics operations is a plus.
