We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, supporting seamless operations and efficient order fulfillment. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for performing regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to maintain optimal stock levels. Your expertise will directly contribute to reducing stockouts, minimizing errors, and improving overall warehouse efficiency. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of inventory management principles within a fast-paced logistics environment. We value safety and expect all employees to adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines. Appropriate PPE will be provided, and adherence to its use is mandatory. Successful candidates will possess excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. Daily tasks may involve significant data entry and reconciliation using our warehouse management system (WMS). Regular lifting of items up to 25 lbs may be required. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Identify and implement process improvements for inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with operations and shipping departments to ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Monitor inventory aging and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements for warehouse safety.
- Participate in warehouse safety training sessions.
- Assist with receiving and put-away functions as needed.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and potential issues.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Manage returns and exchanges with accuracy.
- Track and report on key inventory metrics.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency in WMS software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain best practices.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 25 lbs.
