Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Sacramento, California. The Shipping Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, documenting outgoing packages, verifying shipment contents, coordinating with shipping carriers, and maintaining shipping records. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. A thorough understanding of shipping procedures and logistics is essential. You will be a key point of contact for ensuring timely and correct delivery of our products. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety guidelines and use the necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and print shipping labels for all outgoing orders.
  • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against order documentation.
  • Accurately document all shipping information, including tracking numbers and destinations.
  • Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and resolve any transit issues.
  • Operate shipping software and equipment (scales, printers) efficiently.
  • Maintain organized shipping logs and records.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse, sales, and customer service departments regarding shipment status.
  • Ensure packages are properly prepared, labeled, and ready for carrier pickup.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Assist with receiving duties as needed, ensuring proper documentation and put-away.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and common carrier platforms.
  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with lifting and moving packages, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safe shipping practices and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
