Job DetailsInternship projects vary depending on the needs of both the student and the business. Haemonetics interns are assigned to a meaningful project within the company to acquire a variety of experiences, try different skills, and learn what a future career might offer while also contributing to our innovation agenda by completing business-critical projects and assignments. The DevOps - Monitoring & Data Tooling Intern will be located onsite 3 days/2 days remote per week in our downtown Boston HQ located at 125 Summer St. The Summer 2026 Internship is a 12-week program that requires a commitment to start on June 1st and stay through August 21st.
What You Will Do this Summer:
Haemonetics is seeking a DevOps Intern to support the development and advancement of our monitoring, observability, and data-driven operational tooling. This role will be heavily focused on building and enhancing internal platforms that collect, analyze, and visualize systems telemetry, infrastructure health, and service-level performance data.
This internship offers hands-on experience working within regulated medical-device and healthcare software environments, supporting tools that enable continuous monitoring, proactive risk mitigation, automated alerting, and data-based decision support for engineering and customer-facing service teams.
Tasks:
Design, build, and improve monitoring & observability tooling for hosted and hybrid infrastructure environments.
Work with large datasets including logs, metrics, events, and service telemetry to derive insight and model patterns for alerting and performance dashboards.
Develop automated data pipelines for collecting and structuring monitoring data from diverse sources (cloud, on-prem, VPN-connected endpoints, etc.).
Build and enhance dashboards and visualizations in tools such as Grafana, Kibana, or internal BI/analytics services.
Implement and tune alerting, anomaly detection, and service health indicators (SLIs/SLOs).
Support operational automation of monitoring controls, including scripting health checks and notification workflows.
Partner with software & infrastructure teams to pilot new tooling that improves system stability, reliability, and response times.
Document and present findings on tooling performance and recommended improvements.
Technical Focus Areas
Monitoring & Observability: metrics, synthetic checks, distributed tracing, log aggregation, alerting frameworks.
Data Engineering: ETL/ELT pipelines, structured/unstructured log analysis, API integrations, time-series data modeling.
Automation: scripting (Python, Bash), workflow automation, notification integrations (Slack, Teams, email), infrastructure health jobs.
Cloud + Hybrid Infra: AWS, VMware, VPN tunnel telemetry, load balancer and network observability fundamentals.

Who You Are:
Degree Types: Computer Science, Informations Systems
Preferred Coursework: Cloud Computing (AWS/Azure/GCP intro), DevOps Fundamentals, DevSecOps / Secure Software Delivery, IT Governance or, Compliance, Data Visualization, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure as Code, Observability / Monitoring Tooling
Required Skills:
Interest in DevOps, SRE, or data engineering
Familiarity with Linux, scripting, and APIs
Comfort working with data (logs, metrics, JSON, time-series)
Curiosity to explore new monitoring approaches
Nice to have
Exposure to Grafana, ELK stack, Prometheus, or cloud monitoring
Coursework or projects involving data pipelines or automation
Interest in analytics and visualization
Understanding of infrastructure reliability concepts
