Housekeeper

Position Summary
The Housekeeper performs daily and scheduled custodian tasks as assigned by the Administrator and/or designee. He/She is a collaborative team member in the day-to-day maintenance of the facility for the enjoyment, cleanliness, and safety of residents and employees.

Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience of one year with cleaning equipment.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to be able to bend, stoop and twist.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Well-groomed and appropriately dressed.

Good common sense.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities -
Includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Know and carry out the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph - to unite neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God.
• Maintain the areas assigned in a clean, sanitary and attractive condition.
• Maintains equipment in good condition.
• Removes waste properly.
• Vacuum rugs and clean rooms/sweeps and mops.
• Adheres to infection control policies.
• Cleans all bathrooms in assigned areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Convent Administrator and/or designee.

Work Environment
This job operates in a living with assistance. It is may be also subject to dark, enclosed or tight spaces to clean. This role routinely uses various equipment including but not limited to:

Equipment - mop, broom, dust pan, cloths, brushes, dusters, etc.

Supplies: glass, furniture, toiler, and floor cleaners, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly using hands and fingers to handle, grasp, feel or operate objects or equipment, and reach with hands and arms. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move utilize tools, bend, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, or otherwise move objects. This position involves standing, kneeling and bending most of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision acuity to perform activities within arm's reach and to adjust focus.
