Position Summary
The Project Coordinator/Estimator supports both pre-construction and active project execution by assisting with cost estimating, bid preparation, project documentation, and day-to-day coordination. This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and developing competency in estimating, scheduling, and project controls within a commercial construction environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Estimating & Pre-Construction Support
- Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid packages for commercial and public works projects
- Compile subcontractor and vendor pricing, scopes of work, and supporting documentation
- Maintain bid logs, estimate files, and historical cost data
- Support prevailing wage and compliance documentation for public projects
- Assist with bid submissions, including formatting, deadlines, and required attachments
Project Coordination & Administration
- Support project managers with project setup, document control, and tracking
- Maintain project files including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and meeting notes
- Track material deliveries, purchase orders, and subcontractor documentation
- Assist with schedule updates, status reports, and internal project tracking tools
- Coordinate communication between field teams, office staff, vendors, and subcontractors
Compliance & Documentation
- Support compliance with safety, insurance, certified payroll, and contract requirements
- Assist with tracking prevailing wage classifications and labor documentation
- Maintain organized digital and physical project records in company systems (OneDrive, project management software, etc.)
General Support
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed
- Perform other administrative or project-related duties as assigned to support operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in construction administration, estimating, or project coordination
- Basic understanding of construction plans, specifications, and terminology
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF tools
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting estimating or bidding for commercial or public works projects
- Familiarity with prevailing wage projects and compliance requirements
- Exposure to project management or estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Primarily office-based with job site visits
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to visit active construction sites and comply with safety requirements
Growth & Development
This role provides a development path toward Estimator, Project Engineer, or Project Manager positions as experience and competency increase.
Pay: $55, $60,000.00 per year
