Job Description

Role: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Forest Lake, MN (On-site)

Salary: $84,000 – $126,000 annually

Actual compensation is based on skills, experience, education, internal equity, and market conditions.

Position Summary

The client is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to lead new product development programs through production approval. This role collaborates with customers and internal teams to ensure robust processes, documentation, and a successful transition to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the quality representative on cross-functional new product development teams
  • Review drawings, specifications, and documentation; identify and communicate concerns
  • Lead risk mitigation planning and execution throughout project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and government standards
  • Develop and execute validation protocols and inspection plans
  • Collaborate with metrology team on inspections, capability studies, and gage R&Rs
  • Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members and support production as needed
  • Identify gaps in equipment, resources, and technology to meet evolving needs

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be willing to relocate to Minneapolis - St. Paul, MN.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with defense clients
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (including data interpretation and reporting)
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking to evaluate options and implement solutions
  • PPAP, IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA, CONTROL PLANS, DOE, GRR, risk management, problem solving
  • Working within a Quality System experience (i.e. ISO, AS, GMP, etc.)
  • Ability to use a computer
  • 13485 Quality Management Systems

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of quality experience, including 2+ years in plastic injection molding
  • Experience in regulated industries and contract manufacturing environments
