About the Role:
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the organization to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency of facilities and equipment. This role involves strategic planning, budgeting, and implementation of maintenance programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Director leads a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving. They collaborate closely with other departments to minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets through preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. Ultimately, this position ensures that all maintenance activities support the organization's operational excellence and compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proven experience managing teams and coordinating complex maintenance projects.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP).
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Background in budgeting and financial management related to maintenance operations.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy-efficient maintenance solutions.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or large-scale facility environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies and schedules to maximize equipment reliability and facility uptime.
- Manage and lead the maintenance team, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across all maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute maintenance projects with minimal disruption to operations.
- Analyze maintenance data and reports to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for outsourced maintenance services.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
