Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or
- Master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in college admissions or student recruitment, specifically in the evaluation and selection of students for admission;
- Experience in the development or participation in the development of admissions review criteria;
- Demonstrated regard for quality and accuracy, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and ability to plan and prioritize work for self, direct reports, and organization;
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in an inclusive work environment;
- Ability to work independently;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience utilizing student information systems such as Peoplesoft, Slate, Perceptive Content, Uachieve, or similar;
- Experience working with or evaluating student transcripts/credentials.
The Office of Admissions invites applications for a P&A 100%, 12-month position serving as the Assistant Director of Admissions, Application Processing. The expected salary range of this position is $57,000-$60,000 annually.
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director for Application Processing directs, manages, and coordinates the admissions processing team. The Assistant Director is responsible for the team that processes over 10,000 applications annually, supervises up to four professional staff, and oversees the admissions process workflow and decisions to ensure adherence to admissions guidelines and policy. The Assistant Director is a member of a collaborative team of Admissions leaders committed to serving prospective students and families and achieving enrollment goals.
Application Processes (30%)
- Directs, manages, and coordinates the day-to-day work of application processing;
- Oversee and provide guidance for material intake, application file completion, evaluating applications, and processing workflows;
- Oversee the receipt, check listing, and routing of postsecondary transcripts (including AP, etc.) to appropriate campus partners;
- Direct or enter standardized test scores (ACT/SAT) into Slate (Admissions Customer Relations Management system;
- Assists in the coordination of admissions policy and provides recommendations and changes to admissions policy;
- Follow established guidelines and policies in evaluating and rendering admission decisions on individual applications for admission;
- Makes final admissions decisions as a manager within the Office of Admissions, including Admission and Special Circumstance application files;
- Direct the release of admissions decisions and oversee the printing, folding, and sending of letters of admission and denial;
- Oversee change requests, including application appeals, withdrawals, change of major, and letter reprint requests;
- Maintain and update the Admissions Processing Handbook, documenting admission processes and policy;
- Audit application processes and identify, recommend, and implement process improvements at both local and system levels;
- Ensure timely, accurate entry of data, including admission decisions, etc.;
- Participate in business process discussions, testing, and maintenance of complex enterprise information systems to ensure the accuracy of student records and services;
- Oversee daily, weekly, and project-based data maintenance processes;
- Coordinate reviews with collegiate units as needed.
