We are seeking a seasoned General Manager in our Mauston, Wisconsin location to oversee and manage operations of Dec USA. This role will ideally begin in Q2 of 2026 to transition with the outgoing leader.
Position Description:
Responsible for leading Dec USA, as subsidiary of Dec Group headquartered in Switzerland. Reporting to the Dec Group Board of Directors the role is responsible for setting and implementing the organization's strategic plan, including its business, marketing, investment, and financial goals. The role will oversee all aspects of the company's operations including day-to-day business management, strategic development, and investment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Direction
- Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the Dec Group.
- Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives of the Dec Group and their investors.
- Seek guidance and advice from the Board of Directors and Investors on the strategic direction of the operations.
- Build trust relations with Dec Group investors, key stakeholders, and act as an important point of contact at all times.
- Leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing managerial team in the US operations.
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization's people (clients, staff, management), property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks
- Be instrumental in making high quality investment decisions to advance the business and increase profits, either organically or inorganically, through Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
- Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company's legality and business ethics.
- Review all financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions and improvements, ensuring each location adheres to strict regulatory guidelines for financial reporting.
- Where required review annual reports that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and make tax decisions.
- Build and recommend budgets on an annual basis for the following fiscal year.
- Analyze current markets, investigate adjacent markets to minimize business risk and provide solutions to ensure the business maintains year over year (YoY) growth.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets, industry, and customers of the Dec Group.
- Attended and participate in Dec Group board meetings on a quarterly basis along with the Board of Directors, Investors & Independent Advisors.
- Serve as part of the Dec Group Mergers & Acquisition team (M&A) to review potential targets, and complete Due Diligence (DD) for confirmed investment targets.
- Be responsible for setting vision, values, and cooperative culture in line with the Dec Group.
- Foster robust client relationships and effectively address their needs.
- Manage the company's assets and liabilities.
Management and Coaching
- Develop and ensure effective operation of the Management Team
- Monitor operational activities and provide strategic direction
- Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance
- Participate in people management issues such as recruitment, performance management and employee relations
- Verify team performance against deliverables
General
- Actively lead management team providing valuable input into business development
- Facilitate management team meetings
- Prepare reports, plans and financial information as required
- Share expertise and keep up to date on developments
- Maintain an effective working relationship with all teams within the business
- Contribute to ongoing development of the business, people and processes
- Comply with all policies and procedures within the company
- Carry out all duties with regard to and ensuring equal opportunity
- Work with all employees within the company in the fulfillment of our goals
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and accepted safe practice at all times. Report any health and safety issues or contraventions witnessed anywhere within the business to your manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Business, Engineering or Management, Master's degree preferred.
- Ideally candidates will be able to demonstrate progressive career development and 10+ years of prior experience in Executive/General Management in a similar role, preferably with extensive international experience.
- Familiarity with Highly Engineered to Order (ETO) products associated with Powder Handling, Particle Sizing, Filling Solutions & Containment.
- Experience in developing business strategy and deploying vision.
- Able to make timely decisions daily that will impact the business in the short and long-term.
- Extensive experience in a highly Engineered Manufacturing Environment and strong understanding of Operations, Quality & Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of finance and performance management principles.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions, including marketing, sales, finance etc.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- This position requires regular travel within North America and other international locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120, $180,000.00 per year
