Job Summary – Handyman Trainer / Lead Handyman

We are hiring an experienced Handyman Trainer to train new hires on the job by completing real customer jobs together. This is hands-on field training, not classroom instruction and not theory. You will actively perform professional handyman services while teaching trainees proper techniques, safety standards, job sequencing, and customer expectations.

You must be a skilled handyman and own your own professional tools and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who wants flexible income, leadership opportunities, and the option to take on independent jobs.

What You'll Be Training (Handyman Services Provided)

You will train and demonstrate a wide range of residential and light commercial handyman services, including but not limited to:

  • Drywall repair (holes, cracks, patches, minor finishing)
  • Painting and touch-ups (walls, trim, doors)
  • Light carpentry and wood repairs
  • Door installation and adjustment
  • Lock replacement and hardware installation
  • Furniture assembly
  • TV mounting and wall mounting
  • Shelf and cabinet installation
  • Baseboard and trim installation or repair
  • Minor plumbing work (faucets, sinks, toilets, leaks, drain replacements)
  • Minor electrical work (light fixtures, switches, outlets, ceiling fans)
  • Caulking and sealing
  • Tile repair and replacement
  • Appliance installation (washer, dryer, dishwasher, range hood)
  • General home repairs and punch-list work

Training happens during real paid jobs at customer locations.

Compensation Options

You choose the structure that works best for you:

  • $120–$200 per working day, depending on job scope

OR

  • 50/50 profit split on jobs completed while training

Additional Opportunity

If the collaboration works well:

  • You may be assigned independent handyman jobs
  • Paid at a fixed price per job or 60/40 split (you keep the larger share)

You're paid for real work, not "shadowing."

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality handyman services at customer properties
  • Train new handymen during live jobs, step by step
  • Demonstrate proper tool usage, safety practices, and job efficiency
  • Teach job assessment, material usage, and clean finishes
  • Maintain quality standards and professional conduct
  • Communicate clearly with customers when needed
  • Ensure work areas are left clean and safe

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a handyman or maintenance professional
  • Strong skills across multiple trades (drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Must own your own tools and equipment
  • Ability to teach while working efficiently
  • Reliable transportation
  • Professional attitude and problem-solving mindset

Prior training experience is a plus, but actual hands-on skill matters more.

Why This Role Makes Sense

  • You get paid to do work you already do
  • No unpaid training sessions
  • Flexible compensation options
  • Real earning upside with profit splits
  • Path to steady independent jobs

Pay: $ $200.00 per day
