Kennel Assistant

Overview:
Wildrose Kennels, the oldest and most reputable breeder and trainer of British Labradors in the United States, is once-again expanding our Midwest team and looking to hire a part-time Kennel Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about dogs, training and the outdoors.

Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and maintain kennels

• Exercise kennel dogs
• Assist with grooming tasks
• Assist with backgrounding and training dogs
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment

Required Experience:

• Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
• Excellent customer service skills to interact with customers and teammates

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed

• Must be willing to background puppies (basic obedience training) in your home for 2-4 months a year (compensation extra for this)

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred

• Previous experience delivering and whelping puppies.
