Border Protection Specialist
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking highly skilled professionals to join its team of dedicated individuals working tirelessly to safeguard the nation's borders. As a CBP Officer, you will play a vital role in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.
This challenging position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. You will work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies to identify potential threats and prevent illegal entry into the United States.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce customs regulations by inspecting cargo/bags/merchandise for contraband or prohibited items
- Determine admissibility of individuals for entry into the US using intelligence techniques & risk assessments
- Conduct interviews with suspects regarding violations of laws & national security threats
Necessary Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of experience & education that demonstrates their ability to handle sensitive information & make sound judgments under pressure.
Possess one year minimum specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7 grade level that includes detaining suspected violators or enforcing customs/regulations;
or qualify based on Master's degree from an accredited college/university OR two years progressively higher-level graduate education leading towards such degree;
