SUMMARY
Intrepid Fiber is bringing last-mile fiber connectivity to communities throughout the United States. We're hiring a Sr. Network Engineer to help design, develop, deploy and operate Fiber-to-the-Home network infrastructure, ISP services and support systems. These systems enable highly resilient network connectivity and support the entire lifecycle of internet service. The position will be located full-time, in-person at Intrepid's Broomfield, Colorado headquarters office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
What will you be doing?
Work with Intrepid team members, customers, vendors and partners to collect and analyze network and system requirements, develop plans and execute those plans in a production environment Work closely with our Network Operations Center as part of the Intrepid Operations Team as a resource for escalated issues Play a key role in problem-solving and addressing customer or network problems to ensure a stellar customer experience Collaborate and influence the network architecture and design of the Intrepid Fiber Network Assist in the design and evolution of Intrepid's cloud-based system architecture to support the operation of a fiber-to-the-home network Manage existing network capacity and provision new capacity in support of new or existing Intrepid datacenters and markets Assist in the installation, turn-up and management of network infrastructure in datacenters and markets Circuit design and provisioning of circuits, cross-connects in datacenter and outside-plant/dark fiber infrastructure COMPETENCIES:
What do you bring to the team?
Bachelor's degree Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience 5 years in Network Operations or Engineering in cloud, telecommunications carrier, broadband provider or ISP networks OR graduation from a program with Telecommunications or Network Engineering coursework Experience coding or scripting in higher-level languages (Python, Java, Go) - demonstration of your resume's stated skill level will be required during the interview process Fundamental understanding of network routing, switching and the protocols used to support Desire to work in a face-paced, growth environment Strong time management skills; ability to pivot between tasks while completing tasks in a timely manner Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation Ability to communicate technical information to other technical or non-technical team members General understanding of Unix environments Experience with design, implementation or operation of Fiber-to-the-Home networks PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
