Overview The Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Electricity Industry Operations by delivering high-quality analytics, reporting, and data-driven insights that enable effective decision-making and continuous improvement. Working closely with operational teams, managers, and senior leaders, you will help identify performance trends, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement across the electricity lifecycle.
You will be responsible for providing robust analysis, developing and maintaining reporting frameworks, and supporting process optimisation, project delivery, and industry change implementation. Acting as a trusted analytical partner, you will translate complex data into meaningful insights, contribute to performance management and KPI monitoring, and support innovation across data pipelines and operational processes. With a strong focus on accountability and continuous improvement, the role has a broad influence across electricity operations and the wider business.
Responsibilities
Provide robust analysis, develop and maintain reporting frameworks, and support process optimisation, project delivery, and industry change implementation.
Translate complex data into meaningful insights and support performance management and KPI monitoring.
Collaborate with operational teams, managers, and senior leaders to identify performance trends, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement across the electricity lifecycle.
Contribute to innovation across data pipelines and operational processes.
Qualifications
Experience working within the electricity industry.
Solid understanding of electricity market operations and processes, including settlement, metering, billing, and industry flows.
Proven experience delivering high-level analysis and operational reporting.
Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; Excel/Google Sheets including Power Query, complex formulas, and macros; Power BI; and some exposure to Python.
