Job Overview

The Fabrication Supervisor leads daily fabrication and machining operations, ensuring products are built safely, efficiently, and to Dymax's quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of urgency, attention to detail, and strong people leadership.

Success in this role comes from leading by example—supporting the team on the floor, removing obstacles, and driving consistent execution that directly impacts product durability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise & Develop Team Members

Lead fabrication and machining personnel to complete work on or ahead of schedule. Provide coaching, guidance, training, and support to drive performance and accountability.

  • Lead by Example

Promote high standards through personal conduct and work ethic, reinforcing expectations for quality, safety, and teamwork.

  • Problem Solving & Execution

Identify and resolve fabrication, machining, and bring-back issues to keep production moving and minimize downtime.

  • Production Reporting & Systems

Ensure accurate labor reporting, operation step completion, and rework documentation within ERP/MRP systems.

  • Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve fabrication and machining processes, reduce waste, and improve throughput and consistency.

  • Quality & Safety Compliance

Ensure fabrication and machining operations meet quality standards, engineering specifications, and all safety, environmental, and company policies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Planning, Inventory, Engineering, Sales, Service, and other production teams to align priorities and resolve issues.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and product expertise to team members.
  • Support fabrication and machining operations as needed based on experience.
  • Document processes and help establish standardized onboarding and training programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing experience in an MRP/ERP environment
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and understand the broader manufacturing operation
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Background in fabrication, machining, or heavy manufacturing environments

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certification(s) preferred but not required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
