Program Duration

The internship program will run from June 1 through August 28, 2026.

Where you'll work

This is a hybrid role that requires in-office collaboration three days per week in Los Angeles.

About the Role

As a Data Scientist Intern at Tinder, you'll help us uncover insights from one of the world's largest datasets to enhance user experience, strengthen safety, and drive innovation across our platform. You'll work alongside talented engineers, data scientists, and product teams to solve real-world problems using data-driven approaches that shape the future of how people connect.

What you'll do:- Explore and analyze large-scale datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities
- Develop and evaluate machine learning models and/or LLMs that improve user experience and engagement
- Design and execute A/B experiments to measure the impact of product features and algorithmic changes
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Data Science, Product, and Engineering to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Present key findings and project outcomes to Product and Leadership teams during end-of-internship demos
- Translate data insights into clear narratives and recommendations that inform product roadmaps and user experience improvements
- Participate in improving the team's tools and techniques for experiment reads, focusing on standardization, automation, and clear documentation
What we're looking for:- Passion for using data and experimentation to solve complex problems
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for data querying and analysis
- Familiarity with / building to proficiency in Python.Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning fundamentals
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Currently pursuing a BS/BA, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field
