We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Lead Software Engineer to help build ClaimSentinel, RENFROE's next-generation AI-driven claims quality assurance platform. This is a foundational role focused on designing and building the core application from initial architecture through production deployment, including frontend, backend, and supporting infrastructure.

As one of the first engineers on the team, you will have significant ownership over system design, technical decisions, and implementation. You will work closely with AI engineers and product teams to deliver a reliable, scalable platform that integrates AI capabilities into real claims QA workflows.

This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys building from scratch, working across the stack, and helping shape the early engineering culture and technical foundations of a new product.

What You'll Do

Architecture & System Design

  • Design the initial architecture for ClaimSentinel's application, APIs, database schemas, and integrations.
  • Establish patterns, frameworks, and technical guidance for early-stage development.
  • Ensure the system is scalable, maintainable, and compatible with AI-driven workflows.

Hands-On Software Development

  • Build and maintain full-stack components across the frontend (React or similar) and backend , Python, or similar).
  • Implement core features, user workflows, data models, and operational tooling.
  • Develop APIs and backend services that integrate with AI inference pipelines (LLMs, vision models).
  • Support front-end UI implementation, working from early wireframes and product requirements.

Infrastructure & Deployment

  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive claims data and alignment with RENFROE's compliance requirements.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the technical lead for the ClaimSentinel engineering team.
  • Provide technical direction, code reviews, and mentorship for future hires.
  • Collaborate closely with AI engineers and product management on feature planning, integration strategies, and delivery timelines.
  • Help define engineering best practices and development processes as the team grows.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full-stack expertise and ownership of production frontend and backend systems.
  • Experience building production-ready systems from the ground up.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Node, Python, Java, Go, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience designing APIs, databases, and scalable application architecture.
  • Comfort with DevOps fundamentals (Docker, CI/CD, environment setup).
  • Ability to work independently in a lean team and make thoughtful engineering tradeoffs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating with ML/AI systems (LLMs, computer vision, NLP).
  • Experience in insurance, claims, or related regulated industries.
  • Experience as the first or early engineer on a new product.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, asynchronous processing, or message queues.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or acting as a technical lead.
