Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior/Academic Aide to join our team and support students with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with educators, therapists, and families to implement individualized behavioral and academic programs. Duties

  • Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to support students' social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Collect and record data on student behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions accurately and consistently
  • Support students during classroom activities, therapy sessions, and daily routines to promote participation and independence
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other team members to modify strategies that meet individual student needs
  • Help facilitate communication between students and staff using visual aids or alternative communication methods when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
  • Support the assessment process by assisting with intake procedures, diagnostic evaluations, and progress monitoring

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA), is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with special education practices, medical terminology, and medical records management is advantageous
  • Ability to collect detailed data accurately and maintain thorough documentation for progress reports and compliance purposes
  • Compassionate attitude with patience for working with children who have autism or other disabilities
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient care and medical records confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, families, and external providers
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment while maintaining a positive attitude
