Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics by handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining proper aseptic technique.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
• Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
• Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
• Skilled in taking X-rays, operating 3D scanners, and supporting general dentistry procedures.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
