This position exists to help ensure good documentation exists for the Minnesota Department of Education's (MDE) data and help to modernize existing data processes and reporting. They will:
Provide recommendations and help standardize data documentation, including data dictionaries.
Gather necessary information to update and create data dictionaries for MDE, the Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System (SLEDS) and the Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System (ECLDS).
Complete alignment with the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) for major MDE data collections and data from other agencies included in SLEDS and ECLDS.
Help create queries and data reporting processes that are replicable that lead to better sustainability of MDE's data support.
Minimum Qualifications
Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
Enrollment in a post-secondary or graduate program in data science, computer science, mathematics, business administration, education or a related field that involves quantitative methods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using statistical programs or programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS, R, SPSS, etc.).
Experience with qualitative analysis programs (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose).
Experience creating documentation for others to use.
Experience communicating and sharing results to others.
Experience summarizing research articles and reports.
Familiarity with education, health, social programs (e.g., Qualtrics, Alchemer).
Experience with data visualizations programs (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
