The City of Martin Fire/Rescue/EMS is accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.

The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual possessing a desire to make a difference in the lives of the community served.
The successful candidate will have a work schedule 24 hours on and 48 hours off.
Minimum Requirements Are:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a citizen of the United States of America.
Have a High School Diploma or proof of G.E.D.
Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
Must Pass a Written Exam
Must Pass a Physical Ability Test.
Pass an Oral Interview.
Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:
Pass a Medical Physical Examination.
Pass a Psychological Evaluation.
Pass a Drug Screening Test.
Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
5. MUST become IFSAC Firefighter II certified within the first 12 months of Probationary Period.
6. MUST become a Certified State of Tennessee Medical Responder within the second 12 months of Probationary Period.
Successful candidate will have an initial probationary period of 24 months.
The benefit package includes Health, Dental, Life, Vision, AFLAC, Air Methods Membership, and Annual and Sick time accrual. The City of Martin is part of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) following the adoption of the Public Safety Clause, which provides for full retirement at age 55 with 25 years of creditable service. The city provides a 13% match for Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS). The department provides uniforms, Licensure Renewal, and Educational Opportunities.
Starting Salary $43,416* annually (*Included in salary are 12 paid holidays). Salary increases for various IFSAC or Pro-Board Certifications, and various Medical Certifications. Overtime shifts are available.
