Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead School Age Teacher to oversee and implement engaging educational programs for children in our school age program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development. As a Lead Teacher, you will foster a nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth for children aged 5-12, ensuring compliance with educational standards and best practices. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team of educators while making a meaningful impact on children's development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Manage daily classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for school-age children.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and discipline.
- Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, including standardized testing and formative evaluations.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and staff to communicate student progress and address individual needs.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides, providing guidance on instructional practices and classroom management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of lesson plans, attendance, behavioral incidents, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety standards, and child welfare policies.
- Foster professional development through ongoing training in childhood development, literacy education, tutoring techniques, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Expertise in curriculum development across various subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
- Experience with behavior management techniques tailored for school-age children.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and administration.
- Ability to plan lessons that incorporate diverse instructional strategies including tutoring and differentiated instruction.
- Childcare certification or early childhood education credentials are highly desirable.
- Commitment to child welfare principles and maintaining a safe classroom environment.
Pay: $ $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18.0 – 40.0 per week
