Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, special education, and working with children with developmental disabilities. This role involves leading classroom activities, developing curriculum, and supporting children's growth across various developmental domains. The Lead Teacher will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for diverse learners. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, classroom management expertise, and a passion for child welfare and education.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual IEP goals.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and literacy education.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support children's communication, behavioral health, and early intervention needs.
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of children with disabilities, including working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress in areas such as math, literacy, physical education, and overall childhood development.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress and participate in IEP meetings to develop tailored educational plans.
- Supervise classroom staff and assist in training new teachers or interns as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with children, families, and staff to promote child welfare and community involvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe environment for children in daycare or preschool settings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or special education settings; preschool experience preferred.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and learning technology tools.
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, behavioral health practices, Montessori methods, or licensed early intervention programs is advantageous.
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles, IEP processes, and literacy education strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and specialists.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate physical education, math, literacy skills, and social-emotional learning.
- Childcare certification or relevant teaching credentials are required; additional certifications in behavioral therapy or special education are a plus.
