*PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
Tired of being trapped indoors? If you feel restless sitting at a desk, we need to talk. We are hunting for a Parks Steward, someone who sees a weed not as a problem, but as a tiny, misplaced challenge.

Think of public lands as the community's favorite sweater. This role means you are the expert tailor, responsible for stitching up the holes and keeping the fabric strong. You provide outstanding stewardship, ensuring these spaces are safe havens for everyone—from the smallest plant life to the afternoon visitors. This is how we provide safe and healthy homes for plants and animals, as well as safe and pleasant human experiences.

Your toolbox will include everything from trucks to chainsaws, meaning you get paid to operate some serious toys. You will handle maintenance and repair work, plant new vegetation, and generally be the reason our parks look fantastic. We need someone self-motivated because you sometimes work independently, solving nature's unexpected puzzles. This is heavy work; it involves continuous pushing, pulling, and climbing, so be ready for a proper workout. You will be working both indoors and outdoors, experiencing all weather conditions, and sometimes exposed to dust and fumes.

If being the backbone of our open spaces sounds like your kind of adventure, submit your application. We promise the view from your office beats a cubicle wall any day.

The hiring rate is $18.00/hour.
The deadline for submitting applications is Sunday, January 11, 2026. Please note that the City of Aurora will conduct ongoing screenings of applications on a first-come, first-served basis; as soon as we determine we have a qualified pool of applicants, this position may close quickly and without notice.
