Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and specialty care environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in acute and chronic care, with proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient assessments, managing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly valued. This position emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical research participation, and adherence to HIPAA standards.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and intake evaluations
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain management, infectious diseases, and post-acute care
  • Administer injections, perform suturing, and utilize aseptic techniques during procedures
  • Develop and implement treatment plans utilizing diagnostic evaluation tools and medical records management
  • Coordinate discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine services, and post-acute care transitions
  • Utilize EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management
  • Participate in clinical research trials involving medical imaging, clinical trials, or pharmacological studies
  • Perform specialized procedures such as ventilator management (Neonatal Ventilator), cardiac catheterization support, spinal tap, gastric lavage, and radiation therapy support
  • Provide telehealth consultations and health coaching to enhance patient engagement
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and patient data
  • Collaborate with hospital teams in Level I & II Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals to deliver urgent care or emergency medicine services
  • Assist in medical coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes

Experience

  • Proven experience administering injections and performing physical examinations in diverse clinical settings
  • Prior hospital experience in ICU, PICU, or Neonatal ventilator management preferred
  • Experience working within Level I & II Trauma Centers or Emergency Rooms is highly desirable
  • Skilled in the use of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and data collection
  • Background in acute care environments including medical-surgical units or urgent care clinics
  • Knowledge of infectious disease care protocols and infection control practices
  • Familiarity with advanced procedures like cardiac catheterization or spinal taps is a plus
  • Experience participating in clinical research or clinical trials is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology principles necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
