Overview
Capitol Broadcasting Company and the Durham Bulls are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support data-driven decision-making by gathering and analyzing data, drawing actionable insights, and making value-based recommendations in partnership with executive level business leaders. This role will create a bridge between complex data sets and strategic decisions to drive improved financial and operational performance and increased profitability. The ideal candidate combines rigorous analytical skills with strong communication and storytelling ability to manage a portfolio of projects and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to drive strategic decision making
  • Build automated tools, systems, and dashboards that provide key insights and enable faster decision making across business disciplines.
  • Become the subject matter expert, owner, and developer of pricing optimization toolkit including:
  • Ticketmaster tools (Pricemaster, Platinum, TM1)
  • StellarAlgo
  • Design and execute business performance experiments and propose impactful changes for pricing, ticket sales, F&B, retail, and operations
  • Analyze and provide insights into how prices have affected historical ticket sales and the pace of sales for upcoming games
  • Develop multi-factor analyses that drive broader organizational data usage and transparency
  • Evaluate marketing promotions, discounts, bundles, and other sales strategies and make recommendations for continuation or cancellation.
  • Build automated tools, systems, and dashboards that provide key insights and enable faster decision making across business disciplines.

Knowledge & Experience – Required

  • Partnership track record
  • Exemplary analytical acumen – able to drive action and recommend improvements through data analysis and modeling
  • Aggregation, manipulation, and synthesis of large, disparate datasets
  • Adept at telling stories with data
  • Ability to influence and manage change using data-driven insights
  • Obsessed with building repeatable and automated systems, analyses, and toolkits

Skills – Transferable Or Demonstrated

  • Project management aptitude – ability to manage multiple stakeholders and facilitate work being completed on schedule.
  • Presentation building for stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to senior leadership spanning multiple altitudes
  • Understanding of B2C/Sports business setting
  • Ability to prioritize and manage portfolio of work with many stakeholders asking for deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business analysis, engineering, economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in analysis-heavy roles focused on problem solving.
  • Proven track-record turning raw data into valuable recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel Skills – familiarity with power queries, dynamic tables, arrays, and driver-based modeling.
  • Familiarity with other data analysis tools preferred, including Python, R, JMP, etc.
  • Business partnership mentality – viewed as resource and partner to the executive team and BU Leadership.
  • Skills/proficiency in: Excel, Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to distill raw data into actionable insights and present to stakeholders of all levels.
