Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service & Store Experience

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly service.
  • Assist the Store Director with total store CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and communicate resolutions to customers.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints promptly.
  • Address critiques relating to the store and/or employees, closing the loop between customer and employee relations.

Store Operations & Merchandising

  • Assist with total store operations, supporting Company and Division merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives.
  • Drive sales performance, achieve gross profit goals, and manage expenses efficiently.
  • Plan daily store operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability.
  • Communicate with Operations Specialists to execute sales promotions and division programs.
  • Ensure correct pricing, labeling accuracy, product rotation, and code‑date compliance throughout all departments.
  • Conduct daily store condition inspections and coach employees based on findings.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to Company goals, policies, practices, and procedures across all departments.
  • Implement and communicate safety and health initiatives; ensure consistent compliance in work practices.
  • Maintain integrity in food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Review training compliance for Food Safety, HIPAA, COBC, Meat Grinding Logs, Texas Workplace Benefits, Food Handlers, and all other regulatory and company requirements.
  • Enforce proper code dating for all products.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling guidelines, payroll procedures, Time Clock Policy, benefit plans, child labor laws, and employment regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records according to legal and company retention standards.
  • Ensure compliance with grooming standards and dress code.

Leadership & Employee Relations

  • Meet weekly with department managers to review ads, sales plans, and promotional strategies; ensure alternate manager coverage in the Store Director's absence.
  • Assist with staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Evaluate employee performance and support personnel decisions including promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Identify training needs and ensure completion for key employees.
  • Resolve employee relations issues—including discrimination, harassment, and off‑the‑clock concerns—working with HR as needed.
  • Promote and maintain positive employee morale.
  • Protect confidentiality regarding employees, store operations, and Company information.
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to managers, supervisors, and associates.

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Ensure compliance with cash‑handling procedures and safeguarding of Company assets.
  • Control shrink and maintain inventory levels aligned with Division guidelines.
  • Develop operating budgets and manage in‑store operating, maintenance, and supply costs.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Ensure accurate counts of merchandise, supplies, and equipment; oversee audits and reclamation processes.
  • Understand and utilize reports including P&L, S&P, invoices, and other store reporting tools.

Community & Vendor Relations

  • Maintain positive community relations and communication with manufacturers, vendors, and corporate contacts.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging trends.
  • Foster strong working relationships with vendors and Warehouse partners.

Technical & Administrative

  • Operate store equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, safety cutters, Sterilox machine, and related tools.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, and stocking/rotating product.
  • Ensure compliance with temperature controls, storage guidelines, retail labeling laws, and federal/state regulations.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices; basic proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email required.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and administrative paperwork accurately and on time.

Other Responsibilities

  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Recommend store equipment or building repairs as needed.
  • Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with integrity; model Courtesy, Dignity, and Respect in all interactions.
