Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties
- Lead daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and safety standards including HIPAA and EHR systems.
- Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and IV infusion preparation with aseptic techniques.
- Manage inventory control, medication storage, and procurement to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce waste.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff, providing training on pharmacy software, medical terminology, and patient service protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on patient assessment, medical management, pain management, and medication administration plans.
- Implement clinical pharmacy services such as immunizations, patient care consultations, and pediatrics-focused therapies.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies related to acute care, critical care, and LTC pharmacy practices while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation of patient interactions and medication records.
- Conduct patient assessments for medication therapy management, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes through personalized care strategies.
- Participate in hospital rounds when needed to support medical teams with physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medication management strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital pharmacy settings with a focus on acute or critical care environments.
- Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and immunization protocols.
- Demonstrated expertise in compounding medications and aseptic techniques for IV insertion and infusion therapies.
- Experience with pharmacy software systems and EMR/EHR platforms for efficient workflow management.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient assessment and education.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
- Prior experience managing inventory control and medication procurement processes.
- Knowledge of pain management practices within hospital or acute care settings is advantageous.
