Custodial / Maintenance Tech

The Custodial/Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring that the assigned building is cleaned and maintained. This position is located within the Wicomico County Department of Corrections. Duties include:

• Clean restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, strip, wax floors; vacuum carpets; clean windows and upholstery.
• Empty trash and replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet tissue).
• Perform minor building maintenance (e.g., change light bulbs, basic equipment repairs).
• Maintain grounds and exterior areas.
• Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisor.

Open Until January 21, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED;
• Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures;
• Working knowledge of County policies and procedures;
• Safely operate relevant equipment and safely use chemical products;
• Keep all relevant parties informed of all major issues and to recommend changes where appropriate;
• Possess a valid Driver's License; and
• Ability to successfully pass drug screening and background check.
