Network Technician

Job description:

Sync Me Up is looking to add an experienced Network Technician to join our growing company in Morgantown, WV. The candidate filling this position will be in control of all phases from design to customer commission and will assist a team of installers for both residential and commercial technology systems. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, willing to work alone or in a group, and thrive in an environment that is fast paced and ever-changing. While every effort is made to plan a structured daily schedule, priorities shift and the ideal candidate will be comfortable shifting with it.

A typical week may include:

• Setting up and maintaining networks for clients including modems, routers, switches, wireless access points, point to points, etc. Provide support for network issues.
• Communicating with end users to determine needs and implement those needs into a functioning smart system.
• Communicating with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
• Building and maintaining network and Audio Visual (AV) racks.
• Terminating and trim-out of low voltage cabling.
• Reviewing manufacturers' specifications on connections and methods to locate problems.
• Performing regular preventive maintenance and diagnostic tests on Network and AV systems to ensure minimal downtime.
• Adhering to all safety protocols, guidelines, and checklists.
• Developing and maintaining logs and records of service calls, time spent, tools and equipment used, and the nature of the call.
• Learning new concepts including Control4 design, security system set up, and other necessary technical tasks
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Strong desire to learn other disciplines including home and commercial automation platform Control4
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 3+ years of IT related experience

• Professional appearance.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights.
• Able to work in non-climate controlled environments.
• Able to climb a ladder, kneel, and crawl.
