Position: Receiving Specialist

Immediate Supervisor: Store Director

Classification: Full-time Hourly

Job Function:

Builds customer loyalty and trust through ensuring items meet the Robért Fresh Market standards for

quality and freshness; efficiently and accurately checks all vendor deliveries for quantity and quality;

carefully and correctly maintains receiving invoices and records; keeps receiving area organized, clean and

secure. Work hand in hand with Price integrity Specialist providing back up coverage as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Check and verify all deliveries to ensure items listed on vendor invoices are actually delivered and

meet Robért's standards for quality and freshness.

  1. Be a vital component of the success of the company by striving for success to the best of your

ability. Input, creativity and responsibility are expected of all.

  1. Engage in professional, courteous relations with vendors and co-associates, and provide friendly,

helpful, and prompt service.

  1. Control the flow of vendor traffic in the staging area.

  2. Keep staging and back stock areas clean, safe, secure and sanitary.

  3. Maintain accurate invoice and credit records and responsibly manage the invoice entry system.

  4. Properly handle damaged goods and actively seek to reduce damage and spoilage.

  5. Monitor all people and items moving through the receiving area and control access to receiving

doors.

  1. Be aware of situations that could affect the integrity of the store and promptly draw problems to

the attention of store management.

  1. Be an expert on the wide variety of products offered by Robért Fresh Market and learn about

uncommon and unique items.

  1. Perform scanning and price integrity duties as necessary.

  2. Follow and enforce all receiving policies and procedures.

  3. Know and understand scanning and price integrity policies and procedures.

  4. Communicate with vendors and report to the price integrity coordinator to ensure the company

keeps abreast of new or discontinued items, updates to cost or retail price, and package changes.

  1. Take responsibility for regular in-store maintenance of computer equipment and pricing system

devices. Order receiving and computer supplies.

  1. Prepare and submit all paperwork and reports as requested.

  2. Maximize credits received from manufacturers. Handle recalled items properly.

  3. Observe all rules and policies of Robért Fresh Market, as well as local, state, and federal

regulations, including weights and measurement regulations.

  1. Practice safe use of all equipment and ensure proper maintenance.

  2. Follow all security standards and procedures.

  3. Perform other duties throughout the store as directed.

Requirements:

  1. Be willing to constantly and consistently provide excellent customer service and be friendly,

courteous and tactful when dealing with customers, vendors and co-associates.

  1. Be responsible for store safety and adhere to Robért's Commitment to Safety.

  2. Have the ability to correctly assess the freshness and quality of products and to precisely

determine if delivered quantities are accurate.

  1. Be able to perform mathematical calculations and be comfortable with basic accounting.

  2. Have basic knowledge of invoice and accounts payable systems.

  3. Have strong computer skills. Learn pricing programs and quickly adapt to new pricing systems

and computer programs.

  1. Demonstrate proficiency with Windows based computers and have basic knowledge of Microsoft

programs including Excel, Word and Outlook Email applications.

  1. Competently operate handheld devices, printers, modems, and any other equipment used in

receiving.

  1. Have basic knowledge of retail point of sale pricing systems and register systems.

  2. Understand various pricing forms and handle them with competence and efficiency.

  3. Have effective English language communication skills, be able to hear, speak, and understand

verbal requests, and be able to read, write, and understand written communications proficiently.

  1. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are necessary.

  2. Be proficient with keyboarding and 10 key manipulation.

  3. Have an eye for detail, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, and have excellent organizational skills.

  4. Must be self-motivated and task oriented. Be able to work unsupervised.

  5. Have the ability to sit, stand or walk for up to five hours without a break, and be able to bend and

stoop to move or inspect objects, and climb stairs or ladders.

  1. Must be able to operate job related equipment such as scales, hand trucks, etc.

  2. Be able to work in hot, cold and/or damp conditions such as near ovens or in refrigerated coolers.

  3. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted

  4. Frequent repetitive motion with hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, frequent twisting at waist.

  5. Be able to tolerate environmental exposer: damp/humid to dry; temperature variations from hot to

cold

  1. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile, concrete, poured non slip surfaces, etc.

  2. Be able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust, gas fumes and chemicals from common cleaning

agents such as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties.

  1. Be able to work with fresh fruits and vegetables, house plants and flowers without negative

allergic consequences.

  1. Be able to tolerate occasional increase in noise levels in the work environment due to use of power

equipment and truck engines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
