Long-Term Care Pharmacy Typing Technician Needed

POSITION SUMMARY: Pharmacy Unlimited is an independently owned and operated closed door Long-Term Care Pharmacy that specializes in fulfilling the needs of our LTC facilities and the patients they serve. An LTC pharmacy technician performs day-to-day duties under the supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with established pharmacy principles, policies, and procedures and/or law. Technician must have, and keep, a valid Pharmacy Technician license issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) that meets the Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Data entry of patient/facility information and prescription orders
• Customer Service (receiving and processing order requests from LTC facilities)
• Answering phones and processing refills
• Prescription fulfillment
• Other duties essential to pharmacy operations, as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS: Typing and data entry skills, computer, fax and scan knowledge Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment/self-driven
• Ability to take direction
• Dependable/adaptable
• Customer service/phone etiquette
• Interest in technology
• IV certification preferred, not required

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience in Long-Term Care Pharmacy setting is preferred; Framework and/or Softwriters experience preferred; and/or related experience or training in other pharmacy setting.

EDUCATION/LICENSES: High School Diploma/GED equivalent preferred State Certified Pharmacy Technician License is required.

WORK STATUS: Full-time evening shift

• Monday through Friday (11-8p, 12p-9p, 2-11p)
• Alternative working every third weekend
