Summary:

Summary of Major Duties:

MET RN is to provide critical care expertise to the patient and RN as requested. The MET RN needs to demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively coordinate patient care and function as the clinical expert utilizing the nursing process and consulting with the interdisciplinary team.

Job Description:

*Collaborates with nurses in early recognition of warning signs of clinical deterioration in acute care patients and helps with short term management to improve patient outcomes. *Demonstrates strong critical care knowledge and skills, independent decision making skills, and ability to prioritize in proactively identifying and managing patients with suspected signs/symptoms of physiologic instability. *Demonstrates leadership in collaborative care in crisis and non-crisis situations to support patient care delivery on multiple units. *Ensures safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care of patients.

Additional Job Description:

Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required Academic Preparation: *Degree from accredited academic nursing program *Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire; BSN preferred Specialty Certifications: *Specialty certification in critical care preferred Professional Requirements/Emergency Response: Maintains current training in following: *BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required for all *Additional Requirements based upon area of service *Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtains within first 6 months of hire; as applicable Experience: *3 to 5 years of experience in a critical care area required UPDATED 1/6/2023
