CFO

Bulk is a rapidly growing industrial services company operating across multiple business lines and geographies. We are building a strong finance and analytics function to support operational decision-making, scale, and long-term value creation.

We are seeking a high-performing Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst with a strong analytics background and a bias toward execution. This is not a purely accounting or reporting role. Accounting fundamentals matter, but the core of the role is analysis, insight, and ownership.

Role Overview

This role works closely with the CFO and operating leaders to analyze financial and operational performance, support planning and forecasting, and drive data-backed decisions across the business. The environment is hands-on, fast-moving, and requires someone comfortable working with complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and operational analyses
  • Analyze P&L drivers, margins, labor utilization, pricing, and cost structure
  • Support monthly close and variance analysis in partnership with accounting
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting (Excel-heavy; BI tools a plus)
  • Partner with operations and leadership to translate data into actionable insights
  • Support strategic initiatives, capital investments, and process improvements
  • Bring structure, rigor, and clarity to a growing organization

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and financial foundation (FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, or operations analytics)
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling and scenario analysis
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (accruals, revenue, cost drivers)
  • CPA not required
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and desire to work hard and learn quickly
  • Comfortable operating in an evolving, hands-on environment with imperfect data
  • Clear communicator able to work effectively with non-finance partners
  • 2–6+ years of relevant experience (level flexible based on capability)
  • Based in Chicago with availability for occasional onsite work in Michigan City, IN

Why This Role

  • Direct exposure to the CFO and senior leadership
  • Broad scope across analytics, operations, and strategy
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact in a real operating business
  • Strong growth opportunity as the company continues to scale
  • Illinois, United States
