Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support patient recovery and independence by assisting with therapeutic activities in the patients home. This role involves collaborating with occupational therapists to develop and implement personalized care plans aimed at improving patients' daily functioning and quality of life. The COTA will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care utilizing their expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence.
  • Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Support patient care in the home health environment.
  • Help monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance recovery outside of clinical sessions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to healthcare standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Licensed in accordance with state licensure laws.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

Expected hours: 24.0 – 30.0 per week
