Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Department: Shipping and Receiving
FLSA: Non-exempt, Hourly, Full-time
Starting Pay: Negotiable

Position Overview
Responsible for reviewing invoices and ensuring the correct items are received, counted, stocked, pulled and shipped per customer orders, inventory control and warehouse organization by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure proper receipt of incoming materials/products by counting and verifying against purchase order(s).
  • Fulfill orders from inventory and lab produced products.
  • Use invoices to determine shipping method, product and package size and destination.
  • Generate shipping quotes as requested.
  • Compare identifying information then count, weigh or measure items of outgoing shipment to verify information against orders/invoices/bills.
  • Pack items into appropriately sized containers to ensure safe and secure transit.
  • Generate and affix shipping labels to outgoing packages.
  • Generate, review, and monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using manual and computerized inventory systems.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet order and customer specifications.
  • Assemble cardboard containers by hand for shipping.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Load/unload trucks when required using appropriate equipment.

Requirements

  • Communicate frequently with other departments to fulfill shipping requirements and receipt of items.
  • Possess and apply basic writing and math skills.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended period of time.
  • Frequently move up to 50 pounds, with the ability to occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to transverse the work area and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and/or ladder within work area.
  • Ability to navigate a computer system and software with the use of a keyboard and mouse.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Must be an organized, neat, detail-oriented individual.
  • Operation of forklift or using pallet jack to move, conveyor or hoist shipments to storage, work area, or load/unload incoming/outgoing truck.
  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Wear PPE as necessary and required by statutory, regulatory or company guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
