Position Summary
Xclusive Trading is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to support our growing multi-unit retail operations. This role will work closely with Retail Leadership, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, labor cost management, and compliance across store and market levels. The Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing payroll data, managing labor budgets, and supporting operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- Support end-to-end payroll processing for multi-unit retail locations
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, overtime, PTO, and adjustments
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
Labor & Cost Analysis
- Analyze payroll, labor hours, and wage data at the store, market, and regional levels
- Partner with Retail and Operations teams to monitor labor budgets and control payroll costs
- Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization
- Support forecasting and budgeting related to payroll and labor expenses
Retail & Operations Collaboration
- Work closely with Retail Managers and Market Leaders to address payroll discrepancies and questions
- Provide guidance on labor utilization, scheduling efficiencies, and payroll best practices
- Support store-level payroll planning and cost management initiatives
Reporting & Data Management
- Prepare and distribute payroll and labor reports to leadership
- Maintain payroll documentation, controls, and process improvements
- Assist with system updates, timekeeping reviews, and payroll-related projects
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-unit or retail environment
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, labor laws, and wage compliance
- Experience analyzing payroll, labor hours, and cost data
- Proficiency in payroll systems and timekeeping platforms
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data and reports
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams and leadership
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
