Field Service Engineering Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our technical support team. This individual will install, service, and troubleshoot packaging machinery at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable with electrical and PLC systems, and able to communicate professionally with customers. This is abended position of 40% office and 60% travel

Key Responsibilities:

Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair packaging machinery and related equipment at customer facilities.

Conduct preventive maintenance and performance evaluations to ensure system reliability.

Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues on-site or remotely.

Document service reports, maintenance logs, and parts usage accurately.

Collaborate with the internal engineering and sales teams to support customer needs and system upgrades.

Travel to customer locations throughout North America.

Qualifications:

Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).

3-5+ years of experience servicing industrial or packaging equipment preferred.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and electrical components.

Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting is a strong plus.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally.

Preferred Candidate:

Local to Connecticut or nearby states (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New York).

Hands-on experience with packaging or manufacturing machinery.

Customer-focused mindset with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
