About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support a growing multifamily property portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently, and understands the urgency of keeping units safe, functional, and rent-ready.
You will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, unit turns, repairs, and responding to service requests across multiple properties.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders and maintenance requests in occupied and vacant units
- Perform apartment turns (patch/paint, basic flooring, fixtures, appliances)
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixtures)
- Electrical (outlets, switches, lighting – no high-voltage)
- HVAC (basic diagnostics, filters, thermostats)
- Coordinate with vendors for larger repairs when needed
- Perform preventative maintenance and property inspections
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls when scheduled
- Maintain clean, safe mechanical rooms and common areas
- Communicate clearly with management and document completed work
- Track materials used and alert management of supply needs
Qualifications
- 2+ years of maintenance or handyman experience (multifamily preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and basic HVAC
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic smartphone/computer skills (work orders, photos, communication)
- Professional demeanor with tenants and vendors
Preferred (Not Required)
- EPA Certification
- Experience with unit turns and inspections
- Familiarity with AppFolio or similar property management software
- On-call or emergency maintenance experience
